Fayetteville, AR, February 22, 2010—The Skoch2010 campaign comments on results of the February 20th Benton County Tea Party Congressional Candidate Forum.
We are thrilled to see so early in this campaign that such a large group of concerned and involved citizens agrees with what we are standing for.
Like any campaign, we had hoped for a good showing in the first forum to include the large pool of candidates who have recently joined this race. But no one could have expected our campaign to have finished as such a decisive winner of the February 20th Benton County Tea Party candidate forum, attended by over 300 people.
We have been told since we announced our challenge to the status quo in August of last year, that people are fed up with politics—and politicians—as usual. People want to rein in insane government spending and debt; they want to return to the constitutional government our Founding Fathers envisioned; they want to fix the huge problem of illegal immigration; and they want a strong America in all aspects of national security: Economically, diplomatically, and in the vital area of national defense. It is precisely those things our campaign has stood for since day one.
Much work remains to be done in the weeks leading up to the May 18th primary election. We are grateful for the hard work of every one of our many campaign volunteers and supporters, and we are more confident than ever that we will win this important race for the people of Arkansas.
