"What Washington needs today is leadership, not more politics. We need to return America to the Constitution, and to return to the principles upon which this great country was founded.

"I believe that with your help, this campaign can do just that."

- Bernie Skoch
"I support Bernie Skoch as a proven leader and man of his word who intends to bring fiscal responsibiltiy and integrity back to our nation's capital. His actions have proven to me that he will represent us as Arkansans by defending our individual freedoms, our free market system and our Constitution without wavering on principles and values. You should really get to know Bernie Skoch!"

- Robin Day
"I support Mr. Skoch. I've listened to what he has said. I've listened to the way he has said it. I've watched his face as he was saying it, but most of all, I've listened to my gut feeling about this nice man. He is an honest man with integrity in every word he speaks. I believe he means all he says and truly believes in what he says he will do and 'NOT' do. I've listened to him talk to people and heard the truth coming out of his mouth and his intense feelings for what he believes is right. I happen to agree with him, and I will vote for this man to take the office of Congressman."

- Toni Kappelmeier
"It is necessary that a Republic government seeks the welfare of the people rather than selfish private gains that abrogate the rights of the people. Mr. Bernie Skoch has the impeccable leadership to preserve our human rights granted by a divine Being and our inalienable rights guaranteed by our Constitution, thereby preserving our freedoms. His ideas and courage exemplify the people's dream of leadership representation."

- Robert Bartlett
"Mr. Skoch loves his country and the Constitution. He will take that passion to Washington DC and will not tolerate corruption."

- Bill Ostendorf
"We have listened to Bernie and believe he can help restore the government that Americans want and need."

- Bob & Nancy Graham
"Having been in the military ourselves, we understand the sacrifices required of a person dedicated to their Country. Bernie Skoch served 29 years and received the rank of Brigadier General in the Air Force. This is done by good work ethics and fairness to the people. He feels his job is 24/7, not a 2 1/2 day workweek as those in Washington are doing. They are giving themselves auto pay raises when our Country is suffering. Bernie would help control Government spending and hold people accountable for bad decisions. He would not take extravagant business trips at the American people's expense and abuse the use of the Armed Forces as luggage handlers. We feel Bernie is the right man for this position."

- Linda and Henry Napierala
"Bernie is on point in regards to the issues. I know he understands the underpinnings of the Constitution and he understands the economic philosophy of 'Prosperity Economics' on which this country was founded. This foundation of understanding will allow him to go to Washington and not be sidetracked while introducing and supporting solid legislation."

- Tim Costello
"I support Bernie Skoch because he is willing to step up to the plate and fight for what is right for the people. He is willing to listen to the people who put him in office and make choices based on their needs and requests instead of his friends and their opinions. I like how he is straight forward and doesn't beat around the bush when asked questions on how he would make decisions on the issues at hand."

- Doug Kahler
"Bernie has the right balance of knowledge, leadership, and communications skills to represent ALL of us. We believe Bernie will work for ALL of us, not just SOME of us!"

- Jackie, Isaac and James Williams

The most urgent challenge facing our nation is fixing a federal budget that has, by any reasonable measure, become insane. Each one of us owes over $40,000 in federal debt that no reasonable person would have allowed to grow to its present level.

In this paper I will show:

  • How out of control our spending is
  • How our debt is jeopardizing our ability to carry out international goals of promoting peace through democracy
  • That federal spending isn't growing just to keep up with inflation
  • That its growth far exceeds increases in household income
  • How dangerously close we are to serious economic catastrophe based on several measures of economic stability.
  • That it is the so-called "mandatory" spending items—social spending—that is driving the federal budget

I will conclude by offering six specific common-sense initiatives that need to be pursued—and that I will pursue—to turn us away from politics as usual and to return America to economic strength through a reduced federal government.
